WHO WAS ERNEST HEMINGWAY
Ernest was a short-story writer and novelist. He had an iceberg theory that influenced novels of the 20th century. Hemingway did most of his work from 1920 to 1960 (7 novels and 6 short stories). In 1954 he received the Nobel peace prize for literature works.
Hemingway was born in Oak Park, IL. He was a reporter for the KC Star and then enlisted in Army WWI. He was an ambulance driver in Italy WWI. He wrote Farewell to Arms post WWI. In 1940 he became a reporter in London. He was with the Allied Troops during the Normandie landing and liberation of Paris. He had three residences Florida, Cuba, and Idaho.
