WHATS A WHIPPOORWILL BIRD?
The Whippoorwill bird is an Eastern bird. It is medium sized and belongs to the NIGHTJAR family. The bird has a rounded head and stout chest. It's unique camouflage pattern is gray and brown motting. This bird is considered endangered. When it twills it makes the sound WHIP-POOR-WILL hence the name. These birds are nocturnal. At night they chant their namesake WHIP-POOR-WILL. They love spring and summer evenings. They live in Eastern forestry. They are found in deciduous pine forests. The WHIP-POOR-WILL can chant 1008 WHIP-POOR-WILLS at a time. During the day it sleeps standing on logs. It is the conservation status might be due to the quantity on large beetles
